About BumbleBeeSmart

BumbleBeeSmart® designs and handcrafts wall-mounted sensory panels, busy boards, and hands-on activity products. Since 2018, we've built each piece around the same idea: children and adults learn best through real, physical interaction, not through screens. BumbleBeeSmart® is a registered trademark operated by DAKI Crafts LLC.

Every panel starts as birch plywood and is shaped, assembled, and finished by hand in our U.S. workshop. Locks, gears, sliders, and other interactive elements are mechanically fastened into place, then sanded and finished before a final inspection. The result is a physical product built and checked by the people who design it, not a mass-produced import.

Whether you're setting up a home playroom, a classroom, a therapy space, or a clinic waiting area, BumbleBeeSmart® is here to help you build an engaging, hands-on space that holds up to daily use.

Sensory Products Made Since 2018

Since 2018, BumbleBeeSmart has been designing and manufacturing wall-mounted sensory panels, busy boards, and hands-on activity products for homes and professional spaces. That work spans everything from small single-panel boards for a family playroom to large multi-panel installations built for classrooms, therapy rooms, and waiting areas. Across that range, the constant has been hands-on manufacturing experience: real materials, real fastening, real finishing, applied consistently across every product line.

Made in Our U.S. Workshop

BumbleBeeSmart products are manufactured in our workshop in the United States. U.S. inventory and fulfillment are supported by a warehouse in Minnesota, and we maintain warehousing and logistics support in Europe to serve customers there more efficiently. Production and warehousing are separate functions: panels are built in our U.S. workshop, then distributed from the location that gets them to you fastest.

How BumbleBeeSmart Products Are Made

Each panel begins with birch plywood, cut and prepared for the specific set of interactive elements it will carry. Components are assembled and mechanically fastened by hand, one panel at a time, rather than run through a fully automated line. Finishing follows: sanding smooths every edge and surface, and water-based paints and lacquers are applied where the design calls for color or a protective topcoat.

Every panel goes through a final inspection before it's prepared for mounting and shipment. This hands-on, small-batch approach is slower than mass production, but it means every board that leaves our workshop has actually been checked by a person, not just a machine. For a closer look at the full process, see how our busy boards are produced.

Designed for Homes and Professional Spaces

BumbleBeeSmart products are used in a wide range of environments. Families install them in playrooms and home learning corners. Schools, daycares, and preschools use them in classrooms and shared play spaces. Pediatric clinics, dental offices, and waiting rooms use them to give children something constructive to do while they wait. Libraries, occupational and therapy spaces, and dedicated sensory rooms use them as a core piece of hands-on equipment. Care homes and adult day programs use adult-scale versions for similar reasons.

We build for both families and professional or institutional customers, and the same construction standards apply across every setting, whether a panel is going into a single home or a multi-room commercial installation. For visitors and families exploring specialized needs, our sensory wall panels for autism and sensory wall panels for adults collections use element mixes suited to those specific audiences.

Materials, Safety and Everyday Use

BumbleBeeSmart panels are built from birch plywood with smooth, finished surfaces and securely fastened interactive components. Where a design calls for color, we use water-based paints and finishes. Panels are wall-mounted and designed for indoor use, with adult supervision appropriate for the age and setting.
