Light, Water & Visual Effects
This is a newer part of the category, and it keeps growing. The PixelPop Interactive Light Panel is a wall-mounted, hands-on light board built for active play. The Fiber Optic Rain Cloud Sensory Light is a wide, ceiling-mounted fiber optic fixture for a dedicated sensory room. The Fiber Optic Sensory Light Corner Shower gives the same fiber optic curtain effect in a corner-mounted, space-saving footprint, for rooms where a full-width fixture will not fit. The Portable LED Bubble Tube is a freestanding, movable piece for rooms that share equipment across classes or shifts. Light Tables
Light tables for kids bring light play down to table height. Children sort translucent tiles, trace pictures and study leaves on an evenly lit surface. We carry five Whitney Brothers models, from a tabletop light box that sits on any table to a 47 in classroom table and a round table with glowing nature-scene sides. All are made in the USA, UL Listed and GREENGUARD Gold certified. To get started with light play, add a set of Color Wheel acrylic light table shapes in the six colors of the color wheel.
Sensory Tables
Sensory tables hold sand, water, rice and other loose materials in clear trays, so messy play stays in one place. We carry two Whitney Brothers models. The Toddler Sensory Table is 14 in high with two trays for children from about 1 to 3 years. The Mobile Sensory Table with Trays and Lids has four trays, two storage shelves and locking casters for preschool and early elementary classrooms. Every tray has a lid, so materials stay covered between sessions.
Reading Cubes and Quiet Spaces
Not every piece in a sensory room is for active play. The Whitney Brothers Play House Cube is a wooden reading cube that gives one or two children a small space of their own, with the roof on or the top open. The manufacturer states that it meets state requirements for a quiet space in early learning programs. An optional vinyl floor mat fits inside.
