Sensory Wall Panels for Dental Clinics and Waiting Rooms
A sensory wall panel for dental clinics, supplied as a five-panel set 175×65cm (69×26") in total, made up of five 35×65cm panels fitted edge to edge. Latches, gears, sliders and tactile elements give a waiting child something to do with their hands.

Where to put it in the clinic
Waiting area. The obvious place and where it earns its keep day to day. Mount it where children naturally wait and can reach it without climbing on furniture.
Treatment room. A panel within reach can give a child somewhere to put their attention during care. Keep it to the calmer elements here.
Mixed-age reception. Mount at 100–120cm centre height, which works for most standing children. With a wide age range, two shorter runs at different heights beat one compromise height.

How is it cleaned between patients?
The surface is sealed and smooth, intended for damp wiping, and there are no fabric or absorbent components. Because nothing detaches, there is no collecting and sanitising of separate pieces the way there is with a toy bin. The panels are not autoclavable and should not be soaked or cleaned with harsh solvents, which damage the finish over time. If your infection control policy specifies particular disinfectants or contact times, send us the details before ordering and we will confirm compatibility with the finish.
How much wall does it need?
The five-panel set is 175cm wide and 65cm tall. Each panel is 35cm wide, so a shorter run is easy to specify: three panels come to 105cm, four to 140cm. Panels can also be stacked in two rows where the wall is narrow. Send us your wall dimensions and we will suggest a layout.
Waiting room or treatment room?
Most practices start with the waiting area, because that is where restless waiting actually happens and where the wall gets the most use. A smaller run in a treatment room can give a child somewhere to look and something to touch during care - for that position, favour the quieter elements and skip anything that clicks or rattles.
Is it suitable for autistic and special-care patients?
This is the group the research on sensory-adapted dental environments focuses on most. For sensory-sensitive patients, lean towards calmer colours and simpler, slower interactions rather than the most stimulating configuration - we can adjust the element mix on request. Bear in mind that sensory profiles vary: what settles one patient can overwhelm another, so it is worth discussing the mix with whoever knows your patient group.
